Decals on a curved surface

Compound curves are a nightmare to attach flat pieces to, whether it's decals, fiberglass strips, or balsa planking.  Sometimes a very sharp x-acto blade is needed to help take out buckles & allow overlaps.

Also, you might need to cut the larger decal into smaller pieces to place.  Make sure to check registrations.

The problem is double curved surfaces.  Decals go down fine on single curved (cylindrical) surfaces.  For double curved surfaces putting slits around the decal may help.  Cutting them up into smaller pieces works fine too, you just have to be careful lining the pieces up.  Sometimes, even so, a lot of decal solvent is required.

Microscale micro-set and micro-sol works wonders.  micro-sol will allow the decal to conform to any surface, just make sure you have a gloss surface!!!

Thanks I have both those but just couldnt get it to sit right, so I will be masking and spraying it myself
