Setting solutions are pretty benign. There is little reason not to try them. Decal solvents are something else. They can be tricky- some decals dissolve completely in them. I always use setting solutions, but only work with solvents when normal setting solutions- with repeated applications- just cannot get decals to nestle down. Applying decals to compound curves is one place where solvents may be called for.
