pearl harbor decals
Posted by fightnjoe on Saturday, February 14, 2004 3:14 PM
this question has been rattling around in my head for a while. does anyone make aftermarket decals for the groups associated with the pearl harbor attack? i am looking specifically for the us a/c. p-40 b/c, f4f, sbd, pby, p-36, and the others. i am looking for army, navy and marine unit id's, numbers, and isignia's. for those who see my posts this will seem very repetitve but this is my focus as far as building. currently i am working on a p-40b, and an f4f. 1/48 scale is my preference but am willing to look at other scales.

if there are no current decal sheets maybe a mfg could look into it.

There have been several sheets from various manufacturers released over the years, but decal sheets come and go quickly. Have you searched the web for decal mfgrs ? Try Eaglestrike, which also has some Aeromaster avail and Meteor Productions, which offer the Cutting Edge line of decals. Also, you could try third party on-line stores, such as Squadron or Great Models and search there. I don't have the URL's handy, but a Yahoo or other search should find them for you.

Aeromaster has a 1/48 sheet that includes a P-36 that got airborn at Pearl on Dec.7, shooting down two Kates.

Third one down. There are some details on the back. They are available from Eagle Strike Productions, and are probably available from e-tail hobby shops for less. Hope this helps !

thankyou both,
tried to find the sheets by looking at eaglestrike and others but had no luck. did not see the one you mentioned pix. have that one bookmarked now. will keep looking though. my current choice is to use insig. that i have and a black number/letter sheet to try to get it right.
