Since this particular build is for the Longest Day GB, here is some info regarding the invasion stripes.
Squadrons were asked to apply these as late as possible just before D-Day, to protect the effectiveness of their use. All stripes were to be 18" wide, 6" inboard of wing markings, and for the fuselage the rearmost white band had to be 18" away from the tailplane.
The application of stripes did pose a problem with existing markings, but it was only specifically stated that the roundels must not be covered up. For 412 Squadron, it looks that their aircraft had the stripes painted just short of the codes and roudels, giving the illusion of dark outlines around those markings.
Probably a good way to replicate the hand painted look of the stripes is to apply liquid mask over markings, paint on the stripes, and then remove the masks.
