Yeah, I hated to see Pyn-Up and Meteor Productions go. I hope maybe some day the owner can get things straightened up with his ex-wife and hand the originals off to someone that wants to put them back in production. I have a few sets of Pyn-Up decals but at the price they're going for on Ebay I almost hate to use them!

If you want spicy nose art Bombshell and Zotz are almost as good, check them out sometime!

Zotz on AMT A-20 Havoc/Boston

Zotz on Hasegawa RF-4EJ

Zotz on Monogram ProModeler P-47N

Kits World on Hasegawa P-40N

And the old stand-by Superscale/Microscale on Minicraft B-29A

I think the art of decal manufacturing has taken some major steps forward in the last year or so.  I have built some kits recently where the kit decals are just fabulous.  The film is absolutely transparent, and very thin.  They stick wonderfully, and the printing is super sharp.  Along with other process improvements in kit mfg, and great aftermarket parts, I really think we are living in a golden age of modeling.

I'll see you the nose art on Kits World and raise you Pyn-Up.  Those Kits world ladies will look like old hags compared to what Pyn Up put out back in the day.  Sadly Pyn-up is OOP.  You can find them here and there if you know where to look.  I do like some of the stuff Kits World put out, and you're right they're beautifully thin and look great when applied.  I have some in the stash for future builds.  I do like Cartograph too.  But just as Gamera pointed out, there are a lot of great AM decal sets out there.

In my experience, the best decals are made by Kits-World and Cartograph.  They are both easy to work with, and, best of all, have excellent art work.  For example, nose-art girls look like finely done Vargas paintings of yore, and not like cartoons.

Anyone else have any favorites?
