Need tips for handling the very small decals

I too use sharp tweezers, a brush and toothpick to position things. Just take your time and if you get annoyed, then take a break and come back in an hour or two or just put it away and continue tomorrow.

I have a pair of tweezers with very small, very sharp tips.  I got them used, have never seen another set as nice, but they work great for small decals.  Dont resist spending a decent amount on good tweezers.  Unfortunately, buying online or from print catalog is sometimes hard, compared to a local shop where you can actually see and feel them.

Those real small hobby q tips from Tamiya or Gunze really help, and they don't leave fuzz on the model.

I like to use tweezers to hold the paper and use a toothpick to push them off.   Still a pain though.

Well, I don't throw them away.  For some aircraft, the stencils really make the model "pop".   In fact, I search my spare decals stash for unused stencils all the time.   After a brief soak in warm water, I transfer them from the paper backing with a small paint brush.  When you've moved them into the  position you want, gently touch a piece of torn paper towel close to the decal.  This will wick away excess water.  Now, if it's in place, leave it alone for a while.  If the decal needs help snugging down onto any detail, I use Model Master decal set, again using a small brush to very gently wet the decal.  If you don't want to use them send them to me!

yes- do what I do and throw them away and don't fool with them.  If you are referring to the tiny, unreadable stencil decals, they are nearly impossible to see, if you manage to get them applied at all.  They will look like fly specs or just other imperfections on your paint job.
