Where can I find red decal striping or red decal sheets?
Posted by echolmberg on Saturday, January 20, 2018 5:57 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm working on an F-51 from the Korean War that had a narrow red stripe along the black anti-glare panel.  I'd kinda like to use a decal to accomplish this since my narrow stripe painting skills are not that good.  I've tried looking on places like Squadron since that's where I found some black, white and yellow sheets in the past.

Has anyone ever seen red stripe decals or solid red sheets that I can cut to size?

Thanks!

Eric

MicroScale has them , in different width's and a full sheet of red, if you want to cut it yourself.

I mostly buy their RailRoad stuff, so I included a sort-of scale conversion for you. But they also have many,many more decal's for aircraft as well.

You may have to do a little "scale conversion.

N = 1/160 scale Can work for 1 / 144 scale application's.

HO = 1/87 scale  I use these for 1 / 72 scale stuff all the time.

O = 1/43 scale  Close enough for 1/ 48 scale.

G = 1/22 scale or 1/24 scale Will work for most 1/24 and 1/25 scale application's.

While you'r on their site, look at their other decal's .... I ALWAYS find something I dont need ..... and buy 3 of the same thing anyway !

 Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

I just went through this with my Cal Fire S-2T tracker build which required red stripes.  My first set from Cam decals were brittle and broke.  After a reccomendation from RadMax8 I went here:

http://www.fundekals.com/stripes.html

These decals came in more size variety and were much less brittle.

Thanks,

John

Thanks guys! Both the Microscale and the Fundekals sites had EXACTLY what I needed! And Keavdog, I think I'm going to take your advice of getting three of whatever I need. Better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it. Thanks to all! Eric
