Fellow modellers,
I am creating some home-made decals, but require some special paper.
It is waterslide and inkjet (it says so on the paper) BUT its has a clear film that needs to be removed in order to apply the decal on the surface ( the image is effectively reversed) the backing is removed by applying water.
The advantages are that very fine images can be placed with precision on to a small surface area.
the decal is then treated with the usual sovents and left to settle in place.
the very big advantage for me is the fact that the decal is effectively self adhesive.
However the only producer of the decals I have used (LBM run by a fellow called Stephen Hales) is very coy about the manufacturer of the paper he uses and I cannot find anything similar via the interweb.
I assume I am using the wrong descriptor for my searches, but the watermark of the white side of the definately says waterslide inkjet decal paper.
Has anyone come accross anything like this in their various travels around the net?
Thanks in advance.
