Hi; Yeah:
Everybody's bane who buys an old used built up kit! I have something to share. Hard to remove decals ? Here's a tip I stumbled on by accident. Smell Micro Set! Smells kinda like Vinegar doesn't it? Well here's the tip. Don't use that for what I am about to suggest.
Take the model and wash it with Dawn Dish Soap and hot water in a shallow pan( Parts Catcher). Now take Warm White Wine Vinegar. What decals didn't come of with the Dawn get dotted with This Vinegar applied with a " Q " tip! Do not let it dry!. keep it wet. In about a minute or two try to remove the rest of the stubborn decal. It should come off just gently rubbing the surface.
If Not the re-wet it with the warm vinegar. let set for about five minutes. Then Scrape the remainder off with a popsicle stick or wooden coffee stirrer. This doesn't mar the plastic. Now if this still doesn't work, do this. Get a filtered mask. Put it on. Or, Do this outside on the porch! Put a staight out of the bottle drop of cleaning Ammonia on the decal. This will destroy the surface of the decal if it has been mounted over Pledge Floor Care! Then just scrub off the residue in soapy water in a shallow pan. This way if you knock a part off, you won't lose it.
