Thanks guys, I thought that would be the way to go. Just wanted to make sure there were no tricks involved and then find out too late.

Cheers...Snowy

I use the method that Kath describes...just be sure to use a new blade on your knife to prevent ripping of the decal!

Been ther done that snowy I used plenty of micro set to make sure that the decal was well and truly stuck you should be able to"feel" where the ejection ports are, I burnished them with a cotton bud to give an outline of the ports ,mine looked slightly concave then used a scalpel to slooooooooooooowly cut them out, just don't have a try after a heavy night out!
Hope this is of help

Decalling over spent cartridge ejection shutes
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, May 20, 2004 5:43 AM
Is there a special technique for decalling over the spent cartridge ejection shutes such as under the wings of a T-bolt where the national insignia goes across them? I suppose you just decal over them and when the decal is dry, cut through it where the shute openings are. I'm just not sure how to approach this and don't want to screw up my P-47 at the final post. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Cheers ...Snowy.
