Detail Master paper

Modelers, I just purchased some of Detail Master's white and clear decal paper. The label says to be used with laser printers only. What?! Why can't I use an ink jet? Especially if I use a fixative. If this stuff is good only on a laser printer, it's pretty much useless to me!

I found a reference on some (unrecalled) modeling site to "SuperCal" decal paper, made by a company where I used to live, Wheeling, Ill. It's designed specifically to work with inkjet printers. I bought both white and clear, and have had great results on my Lexmark Z52 printer---the first "inkjet" decal paper I've ever used (and I've used a few) that has worked as advertised.
The site is:www.supercaldecals.com
There's a protective spray/sealer that has to be sprayed on the finished decal. I've even used Solvaset (carefully) on them and had no problems. The only pain is, unlike the Alps, markings which need a white background (printed on white paper, that is) have to be carefully trimmed or painted around. You just have to take that into account and plan your artwork accordingly.
