Floquil's Polly Sol

Anyone use the Floquil Poly Sol decal softening solution??? I have never used decal solutions in the past.....just relied on water to do the trick but I picked up a container of this stuff today at my LHS but am unsure about it.

1. What happens to the decals after the solution has been applied? Can they get brittle[:0]?

2. Does the solution actually make the decal hold better on the model. I am laying then down on a gloss finish.

3. Any advice on application.

I am a newbie to this sort of thing so I really look forward to any input for the forum!
