bubbly decals

These air bubbles are air trapped under the decal. You need to poke each one with the tip of a knife and apply a drop of decal set. To avoid this problem you need to apply the decal set to the area first and then apply the decal on top. Also, blotting the decal with a damp cloth will squeeze out any residual air. If there isn't an adverse reaction going on between the gunze set and the decals this should work.

i heard somewhere about microsol/set? is this a 2 part solution that u place under (sol) and over (set) and that prevents this?
can i do this whit the gunze setter?

Actually tom, you've got it backwards. The "set" goes under and the "sol" goes over. The set acts as a wetting agent and helps the decal "stick". The sol helps the decal to conform to surface detail ( which you may need for those carbon fiber decals). There are various brands. Micro is one and Gunze is another and they"ll all work. Some though are stronger than others. Your Gunze will work for this. Post some pics when your done!

hey and can i just buy some of the microset by itself, or do u have 2 buy the in a pack, seeing as i already have the gunze setter

Tom, you should be able to get them seperately. Since you already have Gunze Mr. Mark Setter you'll need a "sol" as well.

You can also use a needle to pierce the bubble. I've found that I tear fewer decals while puncturing them to release air bubbles by using a good sharp needle.

yea i found that aswell, needles are much better than the knife, less screw ups!! :)
thanks 4 the help guys, im startin 2 get the hang of it.... decal i just fin had only 1 bubble, and that was under a tricky spot....
i got some microi sol and set...is micro set a weaker solution than sol? doesnt cause the decal to dissolve.... and i think that gunze mark setter is the strongest, coz of the smell and it leaves a rough texture over the decal(rougher than sol)
