Academy 1/32 F/A-18C Decals
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 19, 2004 3:58 PM
I read a review on the modeling madness site in which the author says that he had a terrible time getting the Academy decals to stick. The workbench review in Finescale notes that the decals worked well. I want to use the low-vis Golden Dragons decals from the kit, but I am concerned that they might not stick. Does anyone have experience with the decals?

from my limited experience with academy decals, they work ok with future and setting solution . when u dip the decals, just immerse, then put it on your bench, never let it hang out in the water, that will make them silver and perform poorly cos the adhesive will just get lost in the water. otherwise, i think they should work fine. they wont be stellar, but they will be fine.

I haven't had problems with them (Academy). Just as Reggie said, they shouldn't be a problem with a good gloss coat (Future) and some setting solution. Once dry, seal up with a good clear matte/flat coat and your VFA-192 Hornet will be a showpiece.Smile [:)]
