Decal Bubbles

What I like to do is put a wetting solution where I'm placing the decal, and then slide it into place. After that, I take a brush, starting in the center and "paint" to the edge. This will usually remove any trapped air. After the decal dries, if I have a bubble, I staab it with an xacto and coat with a setting solution. Repeat if necessary.

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that a heavy application of a lacquer overcoat (eg. glosscoat, flatcoat, etc) can had an adverse reaction to some decals. Bubbling was one of the bad side effects. Since hearing about that I now make sure to apply the first coat or two in thin mists before I give a final heavier topcoat.

You are right on the heavy coats of laquers. They can actually eat into the decals and paint. I have had a great paint and decal job then got a bit in a hurry with the overcoat and then a mess! I have had the paint even blister up! And that is with a coat of Future over the paint.
