all of my decal damaged HELP!!

I've gotten in the habit of scanning my decal sheets before I use them. That way if I ruin them I can use the scan to print a new one. Old decal sheets have a nasty habit of going to pieces when they hit water.

At this point you have basically two choices, 1) Contact Tamiya and see if they can replace the decal sheet. If the kit is still in production they probably can. 2) See if any of the aftermarket decal companies have something you can use.

I think one of the best tools to hit this hobby in the last 50 yrs, has been the computer and printer technology.

I scan all my decal sets.
I can now make almost anything I'm missing or damage.
you can also use the computer to fade color(aged markings) add custom nose art...there really is no limit to your imagination now, with the right tools.

thanks for the tips but where can I find the decal paper ? I am in Indonesia and we have a very limited sources.
someone told me to spray the decal sheet with clear coat. haven't try I need to seek second opinion.

Does your LHS have Microscale Liquid Decal Film? If so, then get a bottle (it's just a small one). You brush this on your decals before you use them and acts as a protectant and fixative. I've fixed a few of my decals with hairline cracks with this stuff. If you can't find it, gloss coat or Future may work, too (you may need to apply a few thin coats to achieve proper coverage for the decal). Hope this helps.

not sure about microscale, maybe I will try to spray them using gloss coat for a start, but I already ordered decal paper from my LHS, so if I faied on this one, I still have a second chance. cheers, thanks for the info.

If you overcoat the decals, be sure to cut close to them when you cut them apart.
