If you have them in place where you want them I use 2 to 3 coats of Future floor finish wax. This can be found at Wal-Mart in the paper goods and chemicals area. Price is around $5.00 for a 27 oz bottle. You can hand brush or air brush the coats on. Let them dry for 24 hours each before you apply the next coat. I hope that this will help you out.

There are several decal setting solutions that will allow decals tomore easily conform to curves and contours. They soften the decal once it is in place and allow it to settle down into the curved areas. As a side affect they also cause the decals to appear thinner and give them a painted on look. I usually use MicroSol however there are a couple of other brands available that do pretty much the same thing.

the best thing i have found for decals is Solveset.

I used to be terrible at decals then I did a nascar. now decals are not much of a problem for me.. also future under the decals helps prevent silvering.

I just finished my #38 yesterday for a group build. These decals are among the most difficult that I've ever done. My method is to lay the decal in place on the model. Then I coat it with Microscales Micro Sol and let it soften the decal. It's very important not to touch it at this time, the soft decal is VERY FRAGILE. I then use a hair dryer to set the decal. Put it on the high setting and hold it about 18 inches away. You can actually see the decal shrink and conform to the surface. If you get any wrinkles, recoat the area and heat again. It may take several applications to get them down. When I'm done with all the decals I seal them with a gloss clear coat and automotive wax.

Here's a few pics

Delbert...Awesome #3, what a flawless paint job. Being a diehard gordon fan I've never been real big on Earnhardts, big or little E, but that car is awesome.
