Thick Decals! Help!!
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 29, 2004 3:53 PM
I have made many planes and i've never had problems with decals until now, I'm building an academy 1/72 plane and the decals are very frustrating because they don't seem to react to solvents I've used micro-sol does any one have any advice or answers?

Wet the decal with micro-sol for a few minutes and then use a hair dryer to set them. The heat causes the decal to shrink and conform to difficult surfaces just like shrink wrap. You may have to do it 2-3 times before it's stuck down good and tight. Of course some picks from a pin will also help in those really annoying areas.

Academy decals are the weakest part in their kits. I always replace them with Aftermarket.
