I"m having trouble finding decals for 56 fighter group. I want to model Col. Gabreski's P-47 in 1/72 scale. Can anybody please point me in the right direction. Thanks John

Aeromaster did a couple of sheets for the 56th in 1/72. Might be OOP at this time, but check their Site & run a search at Squadron & Great Models. I don't recall if they did any 56th AC, but Cutting Edge @ Meteor Productions is another possibility.

Techmod makes a sheet for Gabreskie's a/c. I believe it's 72103 for Gabreskie's and 72109 for other 56th Group planes.

There are several options if you don't limit yourself to those sheets still in production. OOP decals can be found on eBay, model meets and at some of the better hobby shops. Aeromaster and Superscale(Microscale) produced several sheets of 56th FG markings with Gabby's bubbletop included. There's an older sheet from HisAirDec (dry transfer) that turns up from time to time. The older Hasegawa D-Day commemerative Bubbletop in 1/72 has Gabreski's markings. Techmod produces a 1/72 scale as well.
There's also an older sheet from AIR., and one more that I just don't recall at this time. In quarter inch there's much more variety, but that's another story! Big Smile [:D]Smile [:)]Wink [;)]
