Leave it alone for about 24 hours or longer. Rick hit the nail on the head the wrinkling is the microsol doing it's thing. All wrinkles should be gone in the 24 hour period.

If you put another coat of future over the decals once they have set.(24 hours or more) that should take care of any decal edges that still may be seen.

Then weather after the future sets. Then another future coat or dull coat to seal the weathering in and all should be well.

Well, pretty much all of the wrinkles have gone away and the decal has set in very nicely to the ridges and panel lines of the wing surface, and I'm very happy. However, there are two problems I still have:

1. There are one or two slight wrinkles still remaining. It's been about 10 hours since the last brushing of micro-sol...does it need longer to dry and be evaluated, or is there something else I should do?

2. While I wouldn't say there is any "silvering" the clear portions of the decal are somewhat visible, both at the edges and inside. Any techniques to help with this?

Great. It's starting to look better already, although I might need another coat once it dries.Smile [:)]

DON'T TOUCH IT. The shriveling always occurs to some degree with Microsol or other solvents. Leave it alone, go watch a rerun of Wings & all should be well when it cures.

Regards, Rick

Well, I just followed standard procedure for applying a decal on my 1:48 P-51D Mustang, and after applying the Micro-Sol, the decal has gotten all wrinkly. It hasn't changed position or anything, which is good, so I'm not going to touch it, but what was once a smooth decal has shrivelled quite a bit and I'm worried that it's not going to be smooth once it dries...is this part of the process, and will the decal somehow become flat on smooth surfaces as well as adhering to panel lines and raised bits?
