White Fog

It's most likely one of two things:

1) Residue from the MicroSet / MicroSol. I had that happen once and thanks to a hint from someone here it came off easily with a Q-Tip moistened with MicroSol.

2) If you used either acrylic paint or an acrylic clear coat, either the MicroSet, MicroSol, or water is causing the acrylic to fog. I haven't had this happen (and I use acrylics almost exclusively) but I have heard of it. I've read that another light coat of clear acrylic will sometimes clean it up.

It's called silvering. First, only apply decals over a smooth, gloss finish. If you still get it, then it's lack of good adhesive on the decals.

Rick, I don't think it's silvering. He said it's outside the decal and sometimes cleans off with plain water. Silvering would be underneath the decal.

Scott, you may be correct, but I read it as possibly the carrier film outside the graphic. If it's the paint turning white, then he's probably using an acrylic that is reacting to the alcohol in the setting solution.

You could be right, Rick. Regardless, we've got both issues covered, I think

White fog is usually a reaction to the Future sealing coat. If you used Future before decaling just let everything dry then apply another coat of Future and it'll go away.
