Decal faith restored.

Having posted recently about decaling my Airfix Lanc I have just had an enjoyable evening decaling my Hasegawa F15. What a difference - the Airfix decals were overly thin, resisted movement when on the model, curled on themselves and generally were difficultYuck [yuck]. By contrast the Hasegawa decals have behaved perfectly even when required to be wrapped around the wing tipsBow [bow]. Is there a reason for this difference as surely Airfix have made decals for long enough to have the correct formula. Are there generally decals to be avoided to prevent tears! Boohoo [BH]Thoughts welcome.

I've always found Airfix decals to hit or miss. Without fail, I just throw them out and go aftermarket. They're either poorly printed or too thick. Yes, they've been doing this a long time but, just because they've been doing it a long time, doesn't mean they can get it right. I find this with most kit makers. Besides, they're businesses so the bottom line tells them what to do.
