Several months ago there was a posting here detailing one persons trial and error with custom decals (what worked and what didn't). I was looking for RAF codes and couldn't find any that worked for me so I bought a testors set (3 clear and 3 white) got the decal bonder and went to town
I will have to say that the grey did come out a little pixelated but at arms length isn't very noticable. I tried different settings too and I found that with my printer (PSC 1315 HP all in one), the manufacturers recomended setting of plain paper, normal quality wasn't the best. I found that 'other photo paper' and 'highest dpi' came out the best. Also, it was mentioned somewhere that the colours come out darker on the decal sheet,
this is true, the RAF grey is darker than it should be, but I can live with it, at least I have a custom set of decal codes for a Canadain Hurricane!
I will hopefully be applying my decals this week so I'll see what they really look like on a model, keep looking for my hurricane pics coming soon.
So far I am quite happy with the result... but on a model is another story!
