wrinkles

I think I may have used too much micro sol. I put it on the kit decals (hasegawa hurricane mk1) and they wrinkled up like normal but I added more to them and once they dried, they were nice and flat for the most part except they all had some wrinkles that never went away. I tried making a small slice and re-applying the micro sol to soften it and flatten out but nothing happened.

Is there anything that might work to make the wrinkles come out? I know ironing works to bringout wrinkles but that isn't really a good idea with plastic models, it gets kinda messy.
