Decal slovent for Tamiya decals

I've got the A6M2 Zero kit and I applied the first few decals using micro sol/set but they didn't suck down very tight.
It was suggested to me to apply Gunze Mr Mark Softer as this one guy said he had great success with Mr. Mark Softer and Tamiya decals. I applied it to the decals I had already put on and it ate through part of the starborad fuselage hinomaru! any suggestions? I also have Solvaset as a third oftion but haven't used it in a while.
