Help with decal paper.

I printed some lettering on a sheet of decal paper, it says in the instructions that any unprinted areas will show as white and you should spray the decal with Polyurethane varnish to make it transparent. I was wondering is Humbrol matt cote or gloss cote a polyurethane varnish, if not does anyone know of a brand to use?

What I used Colin was a product called Liquid Decal Film from Microscale.
Easy to use, cheap, and goes a long way.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Hello everybody
Colin, are you dealing with Jetcal from The Decal Paper Store ? In such case, I think varnish is to be found in hardware or D.I.Y. stores. Incidentally, they told me their decal paper allowed the use of Sets and Sols of any brand.I didn't do any experiments yet as I'm not satisfied with the tunig of my computer colorimetry. Would you be so kind as to share your feelings with us on this product ( I think their system is unique and therefore a new land to explore) ? Thank you.

Thank you all for coming José

Sorry Torio I don't know what brand it is I got it as a free sample. It came with a modelling magazine a lomg time ago. I went to the diy store and got a poly varnish, brushed it on and hey-presto the decal backing became clear. If you want to see the results look in the armour section in "pics of my Marder'. I used the decal paper to make the name plate for the diorama.

Thank you Colin, and to Robert, if you read this one, I wanted to lighten this point : unlike other plain decal companies, the Jetcal from The Decal Paper Store ( http://www.thedecalpaperstore.com) is unique, I mean there is no clear versus white decal, as the decal sheet may be clear AND white at the same time due to the spraying of varnish on various areas. This is why I believe there is something to explore there.

Thank you all for coming José
