It is true! Future is not a floor wax, but a floor finish. It is nothing more than an acrylic paint! You can also dip clear parts, like canopies, to enhance clarity and to help protect the canopy.
Most people use matt paints on their models which require a treatment of gloss to allow the decal to adhere properly without silvering. So once you've finished the painting, but before any weathering, you lay down a coating of Future to smooth out the surface. Let it sit for 24 hours (or longer depending on the temperature and humidity). The decals adhere nicely to that surface, and once they snuggled down the way you want and have fully dried, lay down another coating of Future to seal them in. You can add flat base to the Future to get the matt look again. Another 24 or whatever hours later, weather to your hearts content.
