The Setter is usually all you need.  It can be harsh for some decals, just use enough to get the decal to stick down, don't soak the decal with it.  You most likely won't need the Softer, but if you do, use it sparingly, let the decal dry a bit between applications.  If there are alternate decals in your set, try it on those first on a junk model before you commit to it using it on the decals you want to put on the model.  And if you use Future for a clear coat, make sure it is fully cured, at least 24hours....  If you rush the decalling, it can bite you, but if you take your time with these products, it will look gorgeous.

Cool.

This is the first time I've ever bought something and not then found a bad review.

I'm with wes. How best to use the stuff?

A little or alot?

The instructions on my bottle are all Japanese.

I use Mr. Mark Setter and Softer.  I threw my MicroSol away first time I used it, I love the stuff....

Yep that stuff is great.
I was looking for Micro Set for my decal need and since the LHS did not carry that I gamble and gave it a try.

The stuff works like a charm. Thumbs Up [tup]

Yes, I tool the leap of faith after years of using Micro Set and Sol, and I found Mr Mark Setter and Softer to be better. I used this stuff for the first time on my 1/48 Mustang, the decals look painted on. I got a bit carried away sloshing the stuff on and it did eat into the Alclad in a few places, so just a word of warning to anyone using this over Alclad (even Futured Alclad, I tested all my setting solutions)

The guy at the LHS talked me into it. I've been using Solvaset for ever so it was a leap of faith to switch.

But wow! That Gunze stuff rocks! Much better than the old standby! Used it on a plane with a VERY flat finish, NO SILVERING (the salesman swore that it would work and showed me an example of his work to prove it). Just flat the decals and tada! I was worried at first because the cals didn't wrinkle up like they did with the old stuff. Just a little around the edges was all. The next morning I had painted on markings. Glad I tried it.
