Best Overcoat for decals?

I want to make some simple stripes. I just sprayed layer of enamle grey. What do i overcoat with? I've tried Krystal Clear decal overcoat solution but i spatterd out...what ratio should i thin it with. Or can i simply use enamle gloss coat?
