Japanese Special Attack Squadron decals
Posted by pinkboy on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 11:24 AM

hi folks.

I found these decals recently.  If you build Japanese WW2 aircraft, check out these decals if you haven't yet seen them: Aeromaster Products AMDSP72006: 1/72 scale Special Attack Squadrons.

They come in a 27 page booklet with color prints of many aircraft, coded to 3 and a half decal sheets that are beautifully done.  When I ordered it, I thought I was getting one decal sheet, and I thought $20 is pretty pricey...but when I received it, I realized this is one heck of a deal, so much information and so many great decals.

I'm building several of A+V Models' resin kits and MPM's cottage plastic kits of obscure prototypes and drawing board aircraft that would have seen production in 1946, many of which would have been delivered to special attack squadrons in anticipation of an allied invasion of the Japanese home islands.  I'm going to use some of these decals on those aircraft, to give them some real character, instead of the bare bones hinomarus supplied with the kits.

Groove on.  Somebody's gotta do it.
