Cleaning up after Set and Sol
Posted by wolfpac on Thursday, April 13, 2006 8:18 PM
What do you guys use to clean up the surface of the area around the decal after applying Micro Set and Sol?  Some water spots seem to be left behind after using the Sol.  I tried using water and a Q-tip but with no luck.  I really do not want to do anything that will harm either the decal or the paint because it will not be my display.

Any advice?

Thank you!!!!!

Erik

Try either alcohol on a q-tip or good 'ole soap and water. If the decal is dry (24 hrs+) you should be able to wipe over it with no problems. If you still have a water spot problem, they will pretty much disappear when you apply the future coat and the dullcoat over the decals.

did you future before decaling?  If so this is the future hazing in reaction to the Microsol/set and it will go away when you future it again...

Thank you for the responses.

I have had the "hazing" appear when I applied future prior ro applying decals.  I figured it was a reaction between the micro set and micro sol.  This last build I did not apply future before decaling, I felt I had a smooth enough finish from painting and wet sanding that the decals would be okay, yet I still get this haze.  I will try the alcohol method to see if that will work.
