hey guys,

im having the same problem right now with an academy b-17 memphis belle. i accidentally placed 2 wing decals on the same wing(left) on each oposite sideOops [oops](confusion sets in when u havent got enough sleep)Sleepy [|)]. i have to remove the decal on the underside of the wing and transfer it to the right underside wing. i havent placed anything on it yet as i am using wipe and shine floor polish(future's version here in the phillipines). if i will be able to remove it, how do i reapply it without breaking up??and also, its my first time to spray future on a plane, how do i clean up the spray after? i usually use gunze clear when sealing decals, now ill be trying future. how many coats does it usually take..

thanks!!Big Smile [:D]

If the decal has silvered, it hasn't "stuck" to the model well and should come off easy. Take a piece of low tac mask tape and press onto the decal then pull off. Decal should come off. It may take several tries to remove. Apply some solvent to the stubborn pieces that won't come off easy to help loosen them up.
That's it.....

Help with decaling/ removing decals gone wrong

I am normally really good with decals and more than once I have been commended on my decal finishes, and its one of my favorite parts of modeling. But this time I really don't know what happened. I apply the future and let it dry throughly. Then I apply the decals as I normally do. Let them dry then I applied  my sol set and let it dry. All looked well, took care of all the silvering that I could see. I am using after market and the kit decals. I know Tamiya decals are a b*** sometimes but I have handled them before so no worries. Well anyway I apply my second coat of future and still I see no problems. I of course let that dry and go to dull coat. And what do I find? A few of the decals have suddenly silvered severely. Probably the worse case I have ever seen on a few of them. Just like that the decaling job is ruined. I can't look at the thing without seeing that. From three feet away it looks okay but any closer...ouch.

Anyway how can I remove the decals without damaging the paint? I know they can't be saved. It doesn't matter since I have another set of the same decals. But I really don't want to repaint the plane if I don't have to.

So my question is, is there a way to save the paint job but remove the decals or is it all a lost cause? I paint with acrylics and I let every thing set a day or two before moving on to the next step. So what can be done to save this project?

Thanks in advance.
