Oh man, ran into a serious snag. I tried to apply the spiral decal
on the spinner of my Tamiya FW190A8 for the Battle for Germany Group Build. I'm not sure what happened but as soon as the decal
touched the spinner it bonded permanently to it.
Naturally, it
wasn't properly aligned and I could not move it to save my life... I
tried everthing, water, Microset etc, even turpentine with the hopes of stripping it off the spinner and then maybe masking and painting it instead. No matter what I did, it just would not move.
I
couldn't even scrape it off with my fingernail.
Has anyone
every encountered a problem like that? I'm at a loss as to what went wrong. I normally use Tamiya Acrylics, but decided to use a can of
gloss black Testors enamel I had in a spray can to save time. I let it cure for almost 2 days.
Anyone have any ideas on why the decal immediately and permanently
bonded itself?
