Although you didn't notice it, it is most likley that the flim was yellowed before you applied them due to their age. R/M prints decals in huge batches and it may have been several years before you bought the kit. You would need to tape them to a window for a month or so and allow the sun to bleach the yellow out. Carefull to leave a space between the sheet and the glass as you do not want condensation to form and ruin the sheet. I'm sure some one will fill in more info.

Cheers

Revell/Monogram decal problem or.....?
Posted by TB6088 on Friday, May 19, 2006 1:47 PM

I had a problem with decal film yellowing after my first attempt at overcoating with Future and at first thought Future might be the problem.  However, recently I had the same problem again using a completely different clear overcoat and realized that the only thing the two incidents had in common was the fact that in both cases it was a Revell/Monogram kit.  Has anyone out there ever had a similar problem with R/M decals?  Never heard of it, but I'm still stumped as to the cause.
