Tamiya Ford Focus decals

I am just finishing up the Tamiya Focus world rally car and have started decaling. Most of the decals go on great but they have some printed in a flourescent red color that seem so thick that not even Solvoset works. I position the decal, soak in Solvoset till it tries to conform then end up cutting little slits into the decal to fold it over the tight curves. Has anyone else built this model and have you had the same problems with the decals? If so, what did you use to soften them? After all the work I've put into this thing I hate to pitch it because I can't put decals on it. Thanks in advance.
