I'm in the market to get a new inkjet printer, in around the $100 range. That I can also print decals with.
In the past, I was able to print decals in Micro Mark's inkjet paper very nicely using an Epson 740 printer. When it went dead, I got an Epson C-64 printer. Well, the ink in it did not work well with the decal paper, some portions of
the ink beaded up or was blotchy in areas. It wasn't the printer mechanically, it was something about the ink that was incompatible with decal paper. The C-64 has recently gone belly up, so it's time to get a new printer that can also print decals properly again.
So, for those who have been using lower-end inkjet printers, what printers have worked well with decal paper? And what brands and types of paper have you been using?
I have asked this question on a group and while there were some replies, none of them involved any proven printer models in the price range I'm looking for. For example I know how great a used ALPS printer would be, but that's not what I'm looking for.
I'm looking to just get back to using an inkjet printer that will work with inkjet paper, like my old 740 printer did a few years ago, but my recent C-64 could not. I know there have to be a lot of people using low-end inkjets, some who had the bad experience I did with a printer like the C-64, and some who have had the good experience I had with a printer like the 740.
