WW, I have been in this hobby now for some 54 years. Although I have never tried what your attempting to do I would have to say that it may prove to be fruitless. If and when you can get the decal loose i think it will be almost an impossibility to keep it in one piece let alone apply it again. If you should succeed let us know how you did it. It would be interesting.

removing applied decals for re-use???

Hi All, I may have to strip a model and wanted to know if decals that have been applied and dried (NOT sealed with clearcoat) can be succusfully removed  by soaking and peeling off.  I know I can't save all of them but there are a couple of rare or hard to get decals I'd like to remove and then scan onto decal paper for reuse when the model is re-painted.

What could be used to do this if at all possible.  This would be a first in all my years of modeling.

Suggestions?
