Need a source for red white and blue pinstripe decals
Posted by dirkpitt77 on Friday, September 22, 2006 7:48 PM

   Hey guys,

I need a source for either decals or just images of a red, white and blue pinstripe.   It's to be for a 1/24 GM technician figure's uniform.   Anybody got ideas for generic pinstripe sources like that?

                Thanks,

                            Chris

I think this came up before and someone suggested checking the model railroad decals.

  Oooo..that's a good idea too.

While I was at work today I was thinking though-couldn't I just DRAW a pattern, like a long rectangle,  in Paint or Photoshop while zoomed in using red, blue and a white gap, and then zoom back out and I'd have essentially a pinstripe, right?  I think I'll try it.  I found some of those Testors Custom Decal System kits at Wally World for $3.00, so I think I'll give that a shot first.

I guess I'll use the same thread for this question too.  Hope someone catches it.

When I bought my Testors Custom Decal System kits at Wal-Mart, both kits had had their software discs broken.  Is there anything on there that is necessary to print custom decals, or can I just throw the paper in the printer and use a downloaded image?  What settings need to be set on my printer?  I have an HP 1350 All-In-One inkjet printer.  Right now it won't suck up the paper.  Keeps jamming.  But the paper is curled quite a bit, even after I'd had it sitting under a stack of heavy books for a week. Curls about to the size of a toilet paper roll.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

If you can't print I suggest you paint the decal sheets the color you want and cut the strips to the width you need.  It beats the transparent ink on the inkjet printers and will probably give you a better finish.
