I had success making the decals I needed last night and they look great. I got some good tips on the Scale Auto forum that made all the difference. I edited my graphics file so that the images I needed would all print near the center of an 8-1/2x11 and then ran a test print on plain paper. Then I took my test print and taped a 2"x4" piece of decal paper over the graphics with removable poster tape. That way the printer could grab on to plain paper for its feed and I only used a small amount of decal paper. And, yes, set your printer for photo paper and best print quality.

Ive got an HP 7210 feeds from the bottom and does the 180 thing ive had one issue you have to take all the paper out of the try make shure your decal paper is completely flat, i went as far as buying new paper when the paper feeds the printer beeps and tells me theres an error and i press ok and it feeds right through.

I've run into the same problem.  Unfortunately, I don't have an answer yet either.  I wonder if changing the printer settings to run photo paper will help?  Hopefully someone will chime in on this thread....I'd like to be enlightened on it too.

Decal-making with HP inkjet printers and Testors decal kit

I bought a basic Testors decal making kit (2 sheets of decal paper, software, spray fixative) to get started at making my own decals. Laying out the graphics was easy enough (didn't even use their software) but my HP 1510 printer won't feed the decal paper through. It jams every time. Has anyone had success with this? Should I be using a different brand of decal paper or is this printer just not good for the job? Like most low end HP inkjets, the paper comes out directly above where it goes in. That means that it has to do a tight 180 turn in the process and maybe the decal paper is just too stiff to do that.
