EagleCals EC 36 "The Blond Knight"
Posted by mebucko on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 6:58 AM

Good Morning!

I'm looking for the 1/32 scale sheet of EagleCals 36, showing Erich Hartmann's Bf109G, in winter camouflage. It is currently not in production - have tried the usual sources - ebay, Squadron, etc. Anyone have any ideas where I might find it?

Thanks!!

hmmm... checked all my usual resources, no one seems to have it.  Are you looking for the same scheme as in this Hasegawa 1/32 kit?

If so, maybe someone out there didn't use those decals on their Bf109G-14 and would be willing to let you have them?

hi Scott -

It looks like the same one. It is for the Hasegawa. Found a site in Paris!!!(Flight 66)Took a chance and placed an order, but who knows? Eagle Cal said they might ask Microscale for another run because it is a popular item. If I find additional sheets, will definitely pick them up!!

Thanks for the great idea!

Take care,

Bill

That is the 1/32 Hasegawa Bf109G-14.  That picture is the box art, and I'm currently building that exact same aircraft for the Axis Aces GB.  Cool [8D]

Thanks - I'm building the "6" by Hasegawa - don't really know the difference between the 6 and the 14. Not sure whether Hartmann's was a 6 or a 14. They both look great!

Thanks for the links!!

Take care,

Bill

Those markings on Hartmann's winter camo'd 109 were on his Bf109G-14 but hey, that's the beauty of modeling, you can make whatever you want.  Smile [:)]

Both their G-6 and G-14 are great kits.  I've started on the G-14, but will also be building a Bf109G-6 flown by Gunther Rall.  Great stuff!  Big Smile [:D]

Looking forward to updates on your build amigo.  Smile [:)]

I'm building the 6 using Floyd Werner's wonderful DVD set! There is SO much to learn, but everything is applicable to building all models. Airbrushing is actually beginning to be FUN! No more cold sweats as I plug in the compressor!

The 14 is about 2 models away in my stack, but am looking forward to it! Will let you know how it goes with both.

Take care and Happy Thanksgiving!

LOL, me too Bill.  That's such an excellent DVD!  That inspired me to go out and buy the Bf109G-6 and Bf109G-14.  I learned some great stuff from Floyd Werner!  Cool [8D]
