Decal needs to be conical and rounded on side ends to comform to tank tips , if you can cut your decal like that it should go on fine. Another idea is make a custom decal for it yourself. If you have a picture of type fuel tank you can use that as a reference. If all else fails mask off and paint it on.

Sometimes you just have to slice them and overlap the sliced portions.

I'd give the Microsol another attempt or 2.

Wraparound decals on fuel tanks

Any tips on how to put wraparound decals around fuel tanks, especially near the tip of the tank??  It's hard to build some of those colorful F-100's and F-104's without being skilled at this!  I tried putting small cuts around the edge of the decal, but that didn't seem to work for me.  And Microsol hasn't seemed to help, either.  Maybe I'm not using enough??
