Anything to look out for with some old decals?

I apologize if this is a common probelm/quesiton but I was hoping for some advice.  Im building a 1/35 ICM T-35 tank, and the decals look kinda odd.  Maybe its just since all Ive built previously is top notch stuff like DML and Tamiya, but the paper is yellowed and looks kidnda dry and stuff.  The decals consist of a couple red stars, a bunch of stripes, some dotted lines/stripes and a couple other less important parts.  So is there anything I should know?  Unfortunately my budget is low so Im not able to buy extra products that might help.  Thanks in advance!
