Lay down a coat of Future first to prevent silvering. Use some Micro-Set on the surface first then apply decal, wait 5 minutes or so, apply Micro-Sol, let dry overnight then follow same procedure for second decal. After all decals have dryed completely coat with Future again then proceed with any additional weathering.

Thanks, Pixilator. FWIW, I got some advice via e-mail saying the same thing. The message also recommended swabing off the excess setting solution after it dries and before putting on the second decal. I guess that goes without saying, but it sounds like good advice.

Decals over decals...
Posted by Lufbery on Monday, September 22, 2003 9:04 AM
Hi all,

I'm almost at the point where I'll be putting decals on the plane I'm working on. I bought some aftermarket decals from Fox One Decals for it and they recommend using Micro Set and Micro Sol. I think I've got the idea on using the decal setting solutions, but I'm not sure what to do when I have to put a decal on top of another decal. Do I:

(1) let the bottom decal dry completely and then apply the second decal, or

(2) put both decals on while they're wet and let them dry together?

Regards,
