Plug for Two Bobs
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 4:56 AM
Last week I stumbled across a sheet of 1/48th decals from Two Bobs I just had to order, TMOTA Combo Pack 1A. Being originally from Colorado, I've a thing for the 120st FS out of Buckley ANG, CO and this sheet caught my eye. One of the four different decal schemes, two from the CO ANG and two from Shaw AFB which participated in the 2001 Tiger Meet of the Americas, depicts a F-16C of the 120st FS in tiger stripes. What you get with the aforementioned set is three sheets of decals, a full color instruction sheet, plus a CD with great shots of the Tiger Meet, which was held at Buckley Air Base. All for $10.00! They even threw in free shipping! Now all I have to receive is the Hasegawa F-16C/J I've on order!

I used them for the decals on my F-18 that I'm building. I only paid $5.40 for mine, but I got no cd. The quality is excellent, the painting guidelines and placement guide is really good, mine came with a list of F-18 kits available, all the aftermarket stuff out there for those kits, plenty of pics of the real life plane, and an ordinance loadout chart of what planes on that ship carried on those missions. I was and still am really really impressed with them. I can't believe that I got it all for only 5 bucks. No shipping for me either. I'll definitely order from them again.

I ordered the 1/48 "Old School Adversary" sheet of F-16Ns from Top Gun; great decals, they went on well and included color photos of subject matter. I have more TwoBobs on order and highly recommend!

Stinger,
H/W TwoBobs website:
http://twobobs.net/
I grew up in Lamar, aka almost Kansas, but spent some time in Denver many moons ago. In fact, an old girl friend from High School days lives in Westminister.

Stinger,
Enjoy TwoBobs Decals; good outfit.
I would have relocated west, but heard a vicious rumor that there was snow in them thar hills. Pretty to look at, but never did like driving in it or scraping frost off windshields. Besides, there was't a U.S. State Dept job there and I headed overseas. I opted for Florida after retirement mainly to avoid the cold weather.
If you ever get to Boulder have a brewski on me at the Sink. Spilled more than a couple of Coors in there 30+ years ago.

The Sink was my hangout in the early '70's also. I was an engineering student at CU. I worked at The Spoke on the Hill right across the street ('72-75), so I've spilt a few myself there. Moved back to Denver only 3 years ago.
Sadly, Boulder is not the same anymore, but last I heard, The Sink is still there. Will keep it in mind next time I go.
How is Florida? I've worked there a few times in the last couple years and honestly didn't like it much. Too humid for me. My girlfriend wants to move there, but I don't know if I can do it.
Regards, happy modelling!

Stinger,
After leaving Colorado, I spent the majority of my career in the U.S. State Dept living in tropical or semi-tropical climates, so the humidity doesn't bother me that much. Plus I had several tours in the Washington D.C. area and believe the humidity was worse up there. Both the wife and I love it down here. We lucked out when we retired 6 years ago and found a 2900 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, ranch style, with in ground pool on 1.2 acres for $174 k. We are located about 15-20 miles north of Tampa right off I-75.
One of my ole high school buddies from Lamar moved down here a couple of years ago and he doesn't miss the old home town either!
While I didn't attend CU a good friend of mine did and I used to visit him there in Boulder while I was on leave from the USN - '66-'69. Did you know that Robert Redford was a janitor at the Sink while he attended CU?
