hi guys,
i live in the UK and i've just finished a big model which is been finished in a matt coat and the wife has got grease spots all over it blink.gif , tried washing it in warm soapy water but this still hasn't worked. doh.gif

any idea's and what i can get in uk supermarkets to remove grease with out harming the paintwork.

If you've washed it, then you might want to try retouching it with the same matt finish to blend out the damaged areas.

You didn't say what type of flat the final coat was - Is it acrylic, enamel or laquer?  If it's one of the latter two, you might try dipping a soft rag in rubbing aclohol and cleaning the surface with that.  If the surface is coated with acrylic, you might try a product like GooGone, which to the best of my knowledge won't effect acrylics (you might want to try it on a test strip/paint hulk before you use it on the model).  Gerald has a good idea, but I would be afraid there is enough grease (read oil) left on the surface to cause fisheye to any coating applied over it.
