Microscale Liquid Decal Film?
Posted by jschlechty on Monday, October 15, 2007 12:03 PM

Has anybody had any luck airbrushing this on?  For some reason I thought it said you could airbrush it, and ended up gumming up my airbrush.  After re-reading the instructions on the bottle, I noticed it only said to brush it on - not airbrush . . . .

If you have been able to do this, does it need tobe thinned, and if so, what do you use?

Thanks for any info!

Just brush it on with a wide, flat brush. It does tend to dry quickly. If you think you did not get good coverage, wait until it has cured (overnight is good) and recoat.

Agreed. Just brush it on. It will look like brush strokes will appear, but it is excellent at self-leveling and dries super thin.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

To thin Microscale decal film use alcohol, I airbursh it all the time.  It seems that some of my ink will smear when I use just a paint brush.

That was my worry.  I had airbrushed some paint on some decal film to try and make canopy lines, and since it was acrylic, I was worried that if I brushed it on, it might disolve or smear the paint.  Instead - it totally clogged up my airbrush.

I haven't tried alchohol to thin the MS decal film - have to give that a try.  Thanks for the ideas!
