I learned this from Greg (Plasticmod992) a few years back.

I have a 100 watt bulb in it and I paint a model and put it in the box and cover the front of the box with a blanket or old T-shirt.

The temperature gets to about 110-115 degrees and after being in there for 30 minutes you can already start gloss coating it with Future for decaling as the acrylics are completely dry.

Maybe Greg could tell you more as he has a lot more experience with it than I do, but I use it all the time as it speeds up the painting process considerably.

Build a cheap drying booth and it can be done in a couple hours. Thumbs Up [tup]

Preferences being what they are, i would say to wait 48 hours between steps. To me, it just seems that that would leave you with the fewest variables. Of course on the other hand, i've been known to be a little paranoid when it comes to cure times. I've never had to strip a model, and i hope that i never do

Warmest regards,

Roger

I have found that, in general, waiting overnight between decaling steps provides enough time for that step to dry. But there are always the exceptions.

I went with 12 hours and had one wrinkle. It's not bad though. I don't think it'll be noticable. If it is, it's a homeade decal so I can do it over. Thanks for your help.

I have a rule I follow which is 24 hours between steps, although your 12 hours is probably OK.

Should be fine, now. Make sure you wipe off any water marks or excess setting solution.

How long should a decal dry/set-up before applying future. I applied future before laying down the decals, one car had been waiting 2 days+ The other about 4 hours. The decals have now been setting up for about 12 hours and I was wondering if I could start applying future to seal the decals. I didn't use future to set the decals I just soaked them in water then applied.

Thank you

Mike
