Dick Turner's "Short-Fuse Sallee" is correct for his P51B.  The D model he flew as CO of 356th FS/354th FG, 9th AF underwent a name change to "Short-Fuse" (s/n 44-15622) after he and "Sallee" had some kind of falling out.   There were no "invasion stripes" or theater bands on "Short-Fuse".

so here is what i am talking about...the envelope says P-51D....the decal sheet says P-51B...the painting sheet says P-51D but shows what i assume is a P-51B due to the style of canopy...

what i need to know is is it all just misprinted and the decals are for a P-51D....that would be nice...thanks for any feed back...and for the record either way i will end up using them...

picked these up the other day as well...

the painting sheet says p-51D but shows the plane with the older B style canopy...i have seen them on squadron and ebay the same way...has anybody else seen this or know anything about it?...

the planes depicted are short fuse sally and shellelagh...any help would be great...

oh yeah...they are 1/72...that might help...sheet# 72-874
