What are Templates?
Posted by smeagol the vile on Friday, September 19, 2008 9:09 AM

I have been seeing these 'templates' online in shops.  There for allied stars, iron crosses, swasticas, etc.

Are they just sheets of metal(plastic?) with the designs cut into them so you can spray/AB over and get the symbol?  Or are they some kind of decal?

You've got the idea. They're usually plastic, sometimes metal. It's best to not spray over them because it's not likely that you can hold it perfectly still over the model. The best way is to use the template to cut out a mask from tape. Stick your mask on the model, and then spray over that.

Yeah, they're cut-outs... A better word for them is "stencils"...
