Which glue is best for bonding regular plastic parts to brass cable?

Cheers!

I would probably use super glue or a fast drying epoxy

Gluing these two materials are difficult.  The best thing is epoxy.  There is an epoxy called PC7 or JB Weld.  You would need to test this on the plastic you are using since epoxy works on fusion which creates heat when part A is mixed with part B.  The heat could get intense if a lot is mixed.  I use to work in a lab using all different types and we mixed this one epoxy according to instructions and it got so hot it melted the mixing up we used.  Of course this epoxy would harden harder than a hockey puck.
